According to the Saudi Arabian publication OKAZ, Manchester United has made a loan offer to sign Al Nassr striker Vincent Aboubakar.
After parting ways with Cristiano Ronaldo in November, the Red Devils are now looking for a new striker this month.
Many well-known candidates have been mentioned, including Joao Felix of Atletico Madrid, however, United are willing to sign Aboubakar to a temporary loan deal.
The Saudi Arabian outfit presently has eight players in their foreign player quota. They are willing to part ways with their star striker in order to sign Ronaldo for the current season.
The Cameroon star has received loan offers from United and Fenerbahce, but it is said that he will choose the Red Devils due to the strength of the offer and their desire to lure him. Aboubakar has a vast pool of experience playing in Europe, scoring 93 goals for top clubs like Porto and Besiktas. Although he is past his prime, he might be a useful addition to the Red Devils.
The 30-year-old can hold up well and play effectively, and he has a commanding physical presence on the field. He showcased his skills at the World Cup for Cameroon, as he scored and assisted against Serbia and he was also credited for netting a thrilling late winner against Brazil in the group stage.
He could be used as a impact substitute by Erik ten Hag in the second half of the season. For the Red Devils, the Cameroonian striker would be a decent stopgap signing until the summer, when the hierarchy would be willing to provide Ten Hag with big financial support in order to sign a star striker.
