Erik ten Hag has warned rival teams about Marcus Rashford’s “unstoppable” form after the English attacker scored yet another goal against Everton on Friday night.
Rashford is in the form of his life after netting his 13th goal of the season (16th overall for club and country). He has scored in the last five games for the club since their campaign resumed after the World Cup.
The English star also won the club’s December Player of the Month award due to his key contributions last month. He is already on course to shatter his own personal best of 22 goals scored in his record-breaking 2019–20 season. The 25-year-old has regained his form under Ten Hag and has been a nightmare for opposition defenders.
Rashford provided a wonderful assist for Antony to score the team’s first goal of the match and was also instrumental in forcing Conor Cody to score an own goal. He scored a late penalty to secure United’s place in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
The Dutch boss was full of praise for the English star as he warned rival teams about his player’s recent fiery form. As reported by the Manchester Evening News, Ten Hag said:
“He is in good form and on a good run, keep it going. If he keeps focus, concentration and the good work. If he keeps investing in training and games, I am convinced he can keep it going.”
The Red Devils will be happy with Rashford’s inspiring resurgence, while they will be hoping that he continues to help the club fix their spot in the top four of the Premier League table.
Ten Hag and his team now face Manchester City in their next league match, and the outcome of the match will surely decide both clubs’ position in the race.
The fans will be rooting for the academy graduate to score yet another goal and continue his wild form for United. Meanwhile, the coach will be concerned by Anthony Martial’s sudden drop in form. The French striker missed easy chances in both games against Wolves and Everton.
This has made the chants for a new striker stronger, and it seems that the club needs a more consistent striker to lead the frontline.
