Erik ten Hag blocks Anthony Elanga’s loan move to Everton

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has reportedly rejected Anthony Elanga’s proposed loan move to Everton. As per the Daily Star, the Dutch boss is unhappy with the atmosphere at the Merseyside club.

The 20-year-old attacker has played just over 600 minutes of first-team football in all competitions for the Red Devils this season. He is therefore willing to make a loan-term move to Everton, but it appears the Toffees are out of the race since Ten Hag does not want him to join Frank Lampard’s team.

The Dutchman is worried that Elanga’s development could be hampered by the Toffees’ present relegation struggle. Everton is no longer placed in the top half of the league table.

Last season, they barely evaded the relegation zone, and this year, they will have it even harder under Lampard. Some supporters want the manager fired, but Ten Hag would not want to send Elanga to Everton in such a situation. The Dutchman has therefore decided to reject the Toffees’ loan proposal. Due to their relegation battle, Bournemouth is also interested in Elanga and could experience a similar scenario.

In our opinion, Borussia Dortmund is currently in the best position to pursue Elanga. They have not yet made contact and are looking into the terms of a loan agreement.

A number of up-and-coming stars have received opportunities from the Bundesliga team. With no expectations to meet, Elanga might get significant experience at the highest level.

The £22 million-rated star should be the subject of a straight loan deal between United and Dortmund. In the summer, they can analyse his process based on his performances in Germany.
