Zlatan Wants Pogba To Leave Manchester United

Former Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has stated that he feels French midfielder Paul Pogba should leave Old Trafford this summer transfer window amid interest from La Liga giants Real Madrid.

The Red Devils endured a horrendous campaign last season as they finished in sixth place in the Premier League table. Manchester United sacked Jose Mourinho back in December and appointed a former face in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to handle the reigns but the Norwegian is aware that he has a massive task on his hands at the moment.

The 46-year-old has already splashed out funds to recruit Daniel James and Aaron Wan Bissaka to bolster his squad and a few more arrivals look to be on the cards. But with no Champions League football for the upcoming season, it will be difficult for United to keep hold of a few key players at the club because of interest from other suitors in the European continent.

One player that has been linked with a move away from Manchester United over the last few weeks has been midfield gem Paul Pogba. Pogba has explained his affection for the Los Blancos hinting at a potential move to the Santiago Bernabeu to play under his national compatriot Zinedine Zidane.

The 26-year-old World Cup winner was United’s top scorer last season with 15 goals and clearly an integral part of the club’s style of play. But ex-Manchester United forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic believes that the club should not keep Pogba and allow him to leave.

The Swedish forward played alongside Pogba from 2016-18 and admitted to the Mirror, “I think if he doesn’t want to stay, it makes no sense to keep him. You let him go and if he wants to be somewhere else, that is where you let him go to. (You have to) use the situation and bring in somebody who wants to stay. The dressing is more (about) the players’ respect for each other. They’re professionals and understand each other’s situation. Who worries more is the club and the management. You don’t want a player in your club or in your team that doesn’t want to stay because then you know he will not give 100 or 200 percent, or he does that and still doesn’t want to stay”
