As revealed by Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, Brazilian winger Antony is not expected to be out for “a long time”.
The 22-year-old missed United’s last five games before the World Cup but was available for every one of their subsequent 13 games after his return from Qatar. Ten Hag has now revealed that the former Ajax star will not be out for long and will make it through soon.
As reported by the Manchester Evening News, the Dutch boss said:
“I don’t know. I don’t think it is a long time but we have to see how it develops in the coming days. It is in his leg, but I can’t specify. You will understand that.”
With an ankle injury keeping Eriksen out until at least late April, United signed Marcel Sabitzer on loan from Bayern Munich to help fill the void.
Sabitzer, who was a substitute in the weekend victory over Crystal Palace, might make his full debut against Leeds, but Ten Hag is rumoured to be hoping to bring in a permanent midfielder in the summer.
