According to The Athletic, Chelsea’s owner Todd Boehly has held private talks with Manchester United and Newcastle.
The American billionaire, who took over Stamford Bridge from Roman Abramovich in the summer, has spent more than £600 million on players since moving to west London.
In September, he decided to sack Thomas Tuchel and rope in Graham Potter. Since then, he has changed a number of things behind the scenes, remaking the team both on and off the field.
The American owner has had private discussions with the Red Devil’s CEO Richard Arnold and the Magpies’ Amanda Staveley.

It has been rumoured that the trio spoke about Manchester City’s upcoming legal battle with the Premier League on charges of cheating when they met ahead of a larger shareholders meeting between all the PL clubs.
Despite maintaining their innocence, City has been charged by the Premier League with violating financial regulations on 115 occasions during a 14-year period. Manager Pep Guardiola has told other clubs to “be careful” about their finances because of the ongoing problems.
Boehly has made a number of mistakes since joining Chelsea, and he supposedly wanted the Blues to use the impractical 4-4-3 formation.

He was widely mocked for the idea of introducing an American-style All-Star game earlier in the season, in which players from the north and south of England would compete against one another.
Meanwhile, United looks clean in this game, as they have been careful about their spending spree, and the owners are also looking to sell the club to cover up the losses.
