As reported by the club’s official website, Manchester United and Brighton & Hove Albion will square off in the FA Cup semifinal on April 23.
The game will begin at 4.30 pm (BST), and it will be broadcasted live on BBC One channel in UK. The day before, Manchester City will play Championship team Sheffield United in the other semifinal match (4.45 pm).
In the quaterfinal round, manager Erik ten Hag’s side defeated Fulham 3-1 to get to this round of the competition. Fulham were leading with a goal advantage up until the 72nd minute. However, things changed drastically when Willian and Aleksandar Mitrovic were dismissed.
United made the most of their extra men to easily outclass their opponents at Old Trafford. The Red Devils now have a great chance to win a domestic double for the first time since 1994.
Ten Hag’s men will face a strong Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton side, who defeated Grimsby Town easily 5-0 in the previous round. The Seagulls have entered the FA Cup quaterfinal round with high expectations after they eliminated Liverpool with a 2-1 victory in January.
They have been playing wonderfully in the English top division this year and have a great chance of earning a spot in the Europa League next season.
Midfielder Pascal Groß scored twice to help them in an important 2-1 victory over United in August at Old Trafford. Ten Hag’s side will have to perform this time to show a significantly better strength this season.
