Harry Kane’s desire to stay in the Premier League has helped Manchester United in their pursuit of signing the Tottenham Hotspur striker this summer.
According to German publication BILD, manager Erik ten Hag has earmarked Kane as his top striker target and the club is set to make an offer to sign him during the upcoming transfer window.
Bayern has also been linked with him, although a deal looks highly unlikely. The German team reportedly talked with Kane’s representatives, and the striker is leaning towards staying in England.
One of the Premier League’s most reliable strikers, Kane has shown no signs of slowing down. He has 25 goals and four assists so far this season.
He would be a definite improvement over Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst (on loan) if United were to sign him. The English striker would turn this United side into a serious title contender.
The 29-year-old is about to begin the final year of his deal with Spurs. If they are unable to play in the Champions League this season, Kane might look for a move elsewhere.
United would be the front-runner to land him if he chooses to pursue a new challenge in England Due to their ferocious rivalry with Spurs, Kane is unlikely to wind up at Chelsea or Arsenal. Manchester City is also unlikely to sign him as they already signed Erling Haaland.
Newcastle United might be a distant contender to sign him, but the Red Devils are a more wealthy club and will give him the opportunity to win trophies in his career.
The Red Devils might have to offer at least £100 million to convince Spurs to sell Kane this summer.
