Manchester United starlet Alejandro Garnacho recently agreed to a new contract that would keep him at Old Trafford until 2028.
Under Erik Ten Hag, the 18-year-old had a breakout season for the Red Devils, scoring four goals and dishing out five assists. He recently signed a new contract and committed his future to his dream club
While speaking to the club’s official website, Granacho was happy after promising his future to United.
“It’s a great day for me and my family. And I have worked a lot for this moment. I want to say thank you to the manager first because he gave me the opportunity. And of course, my family, all Academy coaches, and everyone [who has] helped me so much.”
“It’s been a positive season for me. Scoring my first goals, and helping the team on with my first trophy. It’s been a special year but it’s just the start. We have to keep working, we have more work to do.”
Garnacho took advantage of the opportunity to showcase his talent as United’s offensive options on the left wing were limited. With his lightning-quick pace, the Argentine has demonstrated the ability to win over the fans and make a name for himself in such a short period of time.
The Red Devils will be able to avoid spending between £50 and £60 million on new players if he can maintain his current level of play.
Due to an ankle injury, he was sidelined for the preceding six weeks of play. He wasn’t there, and United struggled in the remaining few games.
Ten Hag had to rely on Jadon Sancho on the left, who hasn’t performed as well as he did for Borussia Dortmund. The fact that Garnacho is back in the squad will help the Dutch manager.
The FA Cup final between United and Manchester City will take place in June as both teams compete to finish in the top four slots in the Premier League. Garnacho would be aiming will have a significant impact on the biggest game of the season.
