According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson might miss three months of action after experiencing another setback in his recovery from a thigh injury.
The English star has joined Nottingham Forest on loan, but it is unlikely that he will take part in any of their remaining four games.
The 26-year-old experienced a grade two thigh injury in January, and it was previously thought that he may miss four to six weeks of play. Unfortunately, he was unable to recover from the problem, and he will need surgery. This might prevent him from returning until at least August, casting doubt on his prospects of leaving United.
Last summer, Henderson pushed for his short-term departure from United. He made the decision to reach a deal with Forest without consulting the manager, Erik Ten Hag.
The €22 million star’s attitude on David de Gea’s superiority is very obvious, and we don’t anticipate it to change over the summer.
United are currently in a challenging position as a result of his most recent injury setback. The club would want to sell him in early June or July.
The shot-stopper will now be out until August as a result of his operation, and it is uncertain whether he will be able to improve his fitness before the transfer deadline.
If Henderson’s recovery is delayed, United might have to hold off on selling him until January. Dinamo Zagreb’s Dominik Livakovic has been targeted as a potential backup option.
