According to Sky Sports, Manchester United is currently in talks with Chelsea regarding a potential transfer for Mason Mount.
However, there is a difference in valuation between the two clubs, and United is reluctant to pay an inflated price for the midfielder, especially considering that Mount will soon enter the final year of his contract.
In the event that a deal for the midfielder cannot be reached, United may shift their focus to Brighton star Moises Caicedo.
The club has reportedly held a longstanding interest in the Ecuadorian midfielder and has expressed a desire to be kept informed of any developments regarding his future. At this stage, no formal approach has been made by United.
Mount, who has been a key player for Chelsea, is reportedly open to a new challenge at Man United. However, there are doubts about his adaptability to the number eight position, as he has primarily played as a number 10 for Chelsea.
With that in mind, the Red Devils should consider prioritizing the signing of Caicedo over Mount.

The 21-year-old has quickly established himself as one of the most sought-after midfielders despite only making his Premier League debut in April of last year.
He is versatile, capable of playing in both central and defensive midfield positions. Impressively, he has maintained a pass accuracy of 90 per cent throughout his young career.
Given these factors, United should seriously consider pursuing Caicedo as a potential midfield signing this summer.
In addition to his midfield abilities, the Brighton star has also demonstrated his versatility by excelling in the right-back position, particularly in notable victories against United and Arsenal last season.

Currently, Chelsea values Mount at approximately £70 million, whereas Caicedo could be acquired from Brighton for a sum in the vicinity of £80 million.
Considering these factors, we believe that Caicedo would offer greater value for money compared to Mount. The Ecuadorian midfielder possesses immense potential and has the capacity to further develop as a more creative player in the future.
