Borussia Dortmund reignite their interest in United outcast Anthony Elanga

According to the Daily Mail, Borussia Dortmund are considering a discounted move for Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga, who is deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.

Dortmund has renewed their interest in the young Swedish international and is looking to sign him at a reduced price, as Man United are open to his departure.

Although Elanga showed promise in the season prior to Erik ten Hag’s arrival as manager, he has received limited playing time under the Dutch coach, indicating that he may not be part of Ten Hag’s plans.

Despite making 26 appearances across all competitions last season, Elanga struggled to make an impact, failing to score a single goal.

United are reportedly willing to listen to offers in the range of £10 million for the winger, and there were clubs interested in loaning him during the January transfer window.

However, Ten Hag’s lack of consideration for Elanga suggests that he may not receive regular playing minutes next season, especially with the potential signing of Mason Mount from Chelsea.

Borussia Dortmund, who were previously interested in Elanga, have reignited their pursuit of the player. The Bundesliga club are known for targeting young talents, and Elanga fits their criteria.

They aim to sign him at a reduced fee and develop him into a star. Man United are willing to sell Elanga for £10 million or less if a suitable offer arises, as they look to replace several squad players with higher-quality options.

If Borussia Dortmund were to make an offer, Elanga might be inclined to accept it. Dortmund has a track record of revitalizing players’ careers, and the young winger could potentially experience a similar resurgence.

The Bundesliga club are unlikely to hesitate in spending the required £10 million to secure the services of the Swedish winger and may even anticipate profiting from his development in the coming years.
