According to Alfredo Pedulla, Manchester United are set to intensify negotiations for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana after reaching an agreement on personal terms.
The 27-year-old shot-stopper has been targeted by United as a potential successor to David de Gea, who recently departed the club after his contract expired. The Red Devils have already submitted two bids for Onana, but both offers fell considerably short of Inter Milan’s asking price of £51 million.
Recent reports indicate that the club is set to speed up negotiations with Milan in their pursuit of Onana. United acknowledges that they will likely need to come close to Inter Milan’s valuation for the player.
The Red Devils have agreed to meet Onana’s wage demands, which amount to £6 million per year. It is also suggested that the keeper has already held discussions with the club.

United will kick off their pre-season campaign with a friendly match against Leeds United in Oslo, followed by a match against Lyon in Edinburgh before embarking on a trip to the United States.
Manager Erik ten Hag is keen to have Onana in the squad as soon as possible and has urged the club to complete the deal by Friday. If the transfer is finalized by then, Onana could potentially be involved in the upcoming match against Lyon.
Following their trip to Scotland, United have important matches against Arsenal, Real Madrid, and Borussia Dortmund in the United States. These games are crucial for Onana to adapt to his new teammates’ strengths ahead of the upcoming season.
