According to the Mirror, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has received encouraging news in the transfer market, as the Glazers are prepared to support him in acquiring key targets during the summer window.
So far, United have made only one signing, Mason Mount from Chelsea, for a fee of £60 million.
However, negotiations are currently underway with Inter Milan for goalkeeper Andre Onana, although the initial hope of securing him for £40 million may require United to pay around £50 million instead.
Additionally, the club has expressed interest in signing Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund. United are looking to sign Hojlund, who is valued at around £60 million by the Italian club.
United hopes to negotiate a lower fee by including squad players like Mason Greenwood as part of the deal. Initially, it was reported that manager Erik ten Hag had a budget of only £120 million, but the Glazers are now willing to offer financial support.

They are prepared to invest approximately £170 million to secure the desired transfer targets, ensuring that United remains competitive with their top-four rivals and maintaining the club’s value.
The Glazers have not yet selected a preferred buyer between Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe in the ongoing takeover saga, and it is likely that the situation will extend beyond the summer.
The transfer window has been filled with excitement for neutral observers, with Arsenal making substantial investments of £200 million in players like Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and Jurrien Timber, following their second-place finish in the league.
Liverpool have also been active, nearing £100 million in spending and currently targeting another midfielder. Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea have also been busy in the transfer market.
However, Man United, despite finishing third in the standings, have surprised many with their lack of urgency in the summer transfer window. The recent financial backing from the Glazers is expected to accelerate the transfer process in the upcoming days.

Ten Hag is in need of a new goalkeeper and striker for the main part of pre-season, particularly during the team’s time in the United States.
While the arrival of Onana appears imminent, it remains uncertain whether United can swiftly complete the signing of Hojlund.
Reports on the asking price for the Danish striker have been conflicting, but more clarity is expected when United submits a formal offer for the 20-year-old in the coming days.
