According to the Portuguese publication O Jogo, Manchester United are currently in the running to acquire the services of Atletico Madrid’s attacker, Joao Felix, during the summer transfer window.
Earlier, in the January transfer window, the Red Devils had shown interest in signing Felix on a loan deal. However, they were discouraged from pursuing the move further due to Atletico’s high demands in terms of the player’s transfer fee or loan conditions.
Recently, Felix expressed his dream of playing for Barcelona. However, according to O Jogo, the Catalan club currently has other priorities to address before the season begins.
Barcelona’s manager, Xavi Hernandez, is reportedly interested in signing Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva, and the club seems reluctant to make extravagant moves for Felix.
While Man United are also in the running to sign the 23-year-old Portuguese attacker, the report does not provide further details on their pursuit.

United have made two key signings, bringing in midfielder Mason Mount and goalkeeper Andre Onana to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
They now have their sights set on signing a top-class centre-forward and another midfielder, with Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund and Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat being the main targets.
While Felix has been a long-term target for United, it appears unlikely that a deal will happen this summer. The player had a challenging loan spell at Chelsea, where he struggled to make a significant impact, scoring only four goals in 20 appearances.
Atletico Madrid would prefer to send him out on a season-long loan, but they may demand a significant fee of around £25-30 million for this arrangement.

Given United’s limited budget, it is doubtful that they would be willing to spend such an amount on a loan deal.
The speculation surrounding Felix’s potential move to United is believed to be driven by his agent, Jorge Mendes, who often conveys his thoughts through various publications to attract more suitors for the player.
