Renowned journalist Alfredo Pedulla has stated that Manchester United are leading the race to sign Rasmus Hojlund, despite Paris Saint-Germain’s recent interest in the player.
The 20-year-old has become United’s primary target for the striker position, and they have made a verbal offer of €50 million with an additional €10 million in potential add-ons.
However, conflicting reports emerged, suggesting that PSG had also submitted an official bid of €50 million. Alfredo Pedulla’s latest update refutes this claim and maintains that United remains in the front position to secure the player’s signature.

As the situation unfolds, it seems United’s pursuit of Hojlund is still ongoing, with the club determined to bolster their striking options.

Paris Saint-Germain have clarified that they have not made any offer for Hojlund and are currently prioritizing Kylian Mbappe’s future.
On the other hand, United have not yet made a formal proposal, but Atalanta are expecting an upfront payment of €70 million along with €5 million in potential add-ons by Saturday.
Hojlund is presently part of Atalanta’s squad and will be playing against Bournemouth in an upcoming friendly match.
The young striker has already reached a personal agreement with United, and now the club needs to finalize the transfer fee negotiations to proceed with the potential signing.
The Danish footballer has already given his approval for the transfer to United. Despite receiving a substantial salary offer from Paris Saint-Germain, he is willing to reject it to join United.
Now, it is up to the club to reach an agreement with Atalanta for the talented forward.
United’s initial verbal offer of €60 million was below Atalanta’s valuation of €75 million. However, negotiations are still in progress, and United aims to bring the fee down to approximately €70 million. The club is actively working to secure the player’s services at a price that satisfies both parties.

As the player is on his way to England, United has an opportunity to complete the necessary formalities swiftly. If a deal is reached by the weekend, he could join the squad for training upon their return from the United States.
This would allow him to potentially make his non-competitive debut in matches against RC Lens or Athletic Bilbao.
However, it’s important to note that Hojlund may not immediately be a regular starter at the beginning of his United career.
Manager Erik Ten Hag intends to gradually integrate him into the team’s proceedings during the initial weeks. The focus will be on easing him into the setup and ensuring a smooth transition as he settles into his new role with the Red Devils.
