Manchester United are in talks to sign Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard, as reported by German journalist Philipp Kessler.
With the potential transfer of Harry Maguire to West Ham United nearing completion, the Red Devils are in a position to seek a replacement and could turn their attention to Pavard.
Players like Jean-Clair Todibo and Edmond Tapsoba have been linked with the club, but according to Kessler, discussions are already underway for the potential acquisition of Pavard.
Reportedly, Bayern are seeking €30 million for the transfer of the World Cup-winning defender. Although the club was recently linked with interest in Tapsoba, both Pavard and Todibo might be more favourable choices.

Tapsoba, the Burkina Faso player, showcased an 86 per cent passing accuracy in the Bundesliga last season. In contrast, Pavard and Todibo achieved pass completion rates of 90 and 89 per cent respectively in their respective leagues.

Pavard’s performance is notably impressive, considering he played a significant portion of his matches as a right-back.
On another note, both Pavard and Todibo exhibited higher average tackles per game at 2.3 and 2.2 respectively, in contrast to Tapsoba’s 1.5.
Additionally, they secured a greater success rate in duels with 67 and 65 per cent, compared to Bayer Leverkusen’s Tapsoba at 59 per cent.
Given these considerations, our preference leans towards United opting for one of the two. While their statistics show resemblances, Todibo could be the more favourable choice due to his nearly four-year-age advantage over Pavard, who is 27 years old.
