Manchester United Interested In RB Leipzig Ace Dani Olmo

According to Sport, English giants Manchester United have entered the race to sign RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo this summer.

The versatile playmaker has impressed in Germany by scoring eight goals and pricing five assists in 25 appearances for his parent club.

The 26-year-old was once part of Barcelona’s youth setup and he spent seven years at La Masia before taking the risk of moving to Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb.

This move has helped him flourish and RB Leipzig were the first to notice his development. Olmo moved to the Red Bull-owned team in 2020 and has made 148 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit.

As per Sport, all ‘Big Six’ English teams are interested in his services. Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man United, Tottenham Hotspur and even Barcelona are linked with a move.

It is also said that Olmo is grateful for Barca and could be favouring a move to Camp Nou. However, Man United have the upper hand in this deal due to the player’s release clause.

The attacking midfielder’s current contract ends in 2027 and has a £55 million release clause. It is highly unlikely for Barca to splash this sum of money due to their unfortunate financial constraints.

Hence, it looks obvious that they might not discover a move this summer. After all, the player’s inclination towards a move might bring up solutions but the chance to move to a top Premier League club would be hard to resist.

The Red Devils need an experienced right-winger as they are heavily dependent on Alejandro Garnacho. Antony has failed to perform up to the standards and Erik ten Hag will be looking to rebuild the attacking unit if he stays beyond this season.

Olmo’s price tag won’t be a matter of concern and the club will have the added benefit of using the player in two or more positions. He has also stabilised his position in Spain’s starting XI and it is expected that he will be playing a crucial role in the upcoming Euros in Germany.

It remains to be seen whether Man Utd can make the first move in the upcoming months and strike a deal as soon as possible.
