As per Football Insider (via the Manchester Evening News), Manchester United are ready to offload striker Mason Greenwood if the club receives a ‘significant’ offer from interested suitors this summer.
The English ace has been in fine form for La Liga side Getafe with 11 goals and six assists in 34 appearances. Man Utd are aware of the interest in the player since he has started to perform well.
Greenwood hasn’t played for the Red Devils since February 2022, as he was arrested after being guilty of rape and assault but the charges were dropped later on.
United decided to send the player on loan to Getafe amid widespread criticism. The youngster has done well and all eyes will be on his true beyond the current campaign.
His current contract with United runs until 2025. However, it has been stated that the club is already planning to trigger the one-year extension in his contract to preserve his value.

This move doesn’t mean that the owners are eyeing to keep Greenwood at Old Trafford. We expect that the club is ready to send him on loan for another season as Getafe wants to keep the player for one more season.
The Red Devils might still prefer to sell him permanently if an attractive offer comes through. This will help them to add funds to their transfer kitty ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus are interested in signing Greenwood and they might look into the details of the transfer. However, United’s £40 million asking price might be too much for both clubs.
Even Getafe can’t think of a permanent move at that price and the club might then need to lower their demands. The striker’s price tag will be justified if he performs brilliantly next season.
It remains to be seen whether Man United prefer to send him on loan to preserve his value or decide to sell him to receive instant funds this summer.
One thing is clear: the 22-year-old doesn’t have a future at the Theatre of Dreams.
