Harry Maguire To Discuss His Future At Man Utd Over Crucial Talks

Nearing the last year of his contract, Harry Maguire is getting ready to talk to Manchester United about his future at Old Trafford. The 31-year-old defender has recently experienced difficult times at Old Trafford. He left Leicester City in 2019 to join United for a record £85 million.

Maguire had to endure a turbulent couple of seasons after losing the captaincy in 2023. Maguire and West Ham United were connected during the summer of last year. But he opted to stay and impress manager Erik ten Hag for his spot so the transfer fell through.

Maguire is making an effort but his future at Manchester United is still up in the air especially because the team is preparing a post-season evaluation of both the players and the coaching staff.

Whether Ten Hag stays manager or not Maguire is set to stay at Old Trafford for the forthcoming campaign according to The Sun. With the option to extend for a further 12 months, his current contract has one year remaining. With 31 appearances this season Maguire hopes to solidify his position at the team.

After Euro 2024 in Germany ends, Maguire plans to talk with United’s bosses. He’s expected to be key for England in the tournament, as he was picked in Gareth Southgate’s provisional squad. Maguire didn’t play his first Premier League game until October, but he kept at it and the team’s injuries later gave him some consistent playing time.

He discussed his hardships in an interview with ManUtd.com stating, “In football you don’t go through a 15-year career without being sat on the bench at all. I don’t think I’ve ever had to do that before in my career at least not until last season.

I promised myself that I would be patient and that I would do everything in my power to support the guys off the field when I wasn’t playing because whether I play or not I play for this club and I want it to succeed.
