Former Manchester United superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic has jokingly stated that he is still good enough to play in the Premier League and could return to Manchester United if the club ever recalled him.
The Red Devils suffered their first defeat in the Premier League of the new season last weekend when Crystal Palace left Old Trafford with all three points after a late winner by Patrick Van Aanholt. Manchester United now have four points from their opening three games and are still looking quite disjointed despite a few new additions at the club made by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has allowed two of his big-name strikers in the form of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez to leave the club this summer transfer window as he continues to engrave his philosophy into the club.
And following the departure of the two forwards, an ex-Manchester United forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic admitted that he could play for the Red Devils if they called him back. The 37-year-old Swede spent two seasons at Old Trafford and scored goals on a regular basis until suffering a crucial injury that cut short his career for the remainder of his second season.
In 53 appearances across all competitions for United, Zlatan scored 29 goals but he is currently at LA Galaxy and couldn’t resist taking a sly dig at his former club because of the position they find themselves in. While speaking to reporters the prolific attacker cheekily told Sky Sports, “I could play easily in the Premier League, so if United need me, I’m here. But Galaxy has me, so I’m sorry. Nah, I did my job in Europe. I enjoyed it, I have 33 trophies that I brought with me here and hopefully, I can get something here. And then we will see where that adventure finishes.”
