Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United suffered a shock 2-1 defeat at home against Crystal Palace last weekend but will be hoping to claim all three points on their travels to St Mary’s as they face Southampton.
The Red Devils have endured a rather disappointing campaign in the Premier Leauge so far as they have claimed four out of a possible nine points. Following their opening day 4-0 victory against fierce rivals Chelsea, United have just gone backward but they now face a tough test against an in-form Southampton outfit.
The South coast club is high on momentum after their 2-0 win against Brighton last weekend and will be looking to cause another upset for Solskjaer’s men.
Anthony Martial and Luke Shaw have suffered injuries and will be ruled out for the game against United while Eric Baily and Timothy Fosu Mensah are sidelined with long term injuries.
Mason Greenwood and Ashley Young could deputize for the injured duo of Martial and Shaw in the starting line up.
Alexis Sanchez joined Inter Milan on a loan deal and will partner up with his former colleague Romelu Lukaku at the San Siro while Chris Smalling also completed his loan deal to AS Roma yesterday.
