Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira has admitted that club manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is driving the club in the right direction because of the confidence that he instills in the younger players.
The Red Devils have not had a great start to the new season as they have managed only one win in the four games so far heading into the international break. With attaining just five out of a possible 12 points in England’s top flight, United fans are worried about the season but one positive is that Solskjaer is promoting youth which has been demanded for quite a long time at Old Trafford.
One player who is benefitting so far is Andreas Pereira as the midfielder was given starts against Chelsea and Southampton but the 23-year-old wants to repay his manager’s trust and belief. Pereira explained that the Norwegian boss gives his players a lot of confidence to play the games as they come which is extremely crucial for young players that are nervous.
While speaking to news outlet The Independent Pereira said that he wants to grab this opportunity with both hands, “For me, it has been massive, It’s very important to me that he speaks highly about me and I just want to do my best on the pitch to show the faith back to him. It’s very important for the young players to be given this confidence and then, if you have the chance, you have to take it with both hands”
After the international break, United will face Leicester City on September 14th at Old Trafford and will hope to earn all three points against the Foxes.
