According to the latest reports, Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba had agreed on personal terms with Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain in the summer transfer window but the move did no go through because of Brazilian star Neymar.
French midfielder Paul Pogba has made it quite obvious that he does not want to continue playing his football at Manchester United because of the criticism and the lack of ambition at the club. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had a massive task of keeping the 26-year old away from the clutches of Real Madrid in the summer but the Norwegian has succeeded only until the winter transfer window.
But allegedly, Pogba was all set to leave Old Trafford just two days before the European transfer window shut as French champions Paris Saint Germain agreed on personal terms with the United star which included staggering wages of £429,000 a week.
Real Madrid and Juventus were linked heavily with Pogba but PSG were the closest to luring him away from the Theatre of Dreams but a move failed because of Neymar.
It was reported that the Parisians were eyeing a move for Pogba only if Neymar returned to Barcelona. The 27-year-old Brazilian winger was heavily linked with a move back to the Camp Nou but the Catalonians could not afford Neymar.
Therefore, Pogba was not swooped up by PSG as Neymar remained in the French capital. But the Pogba saga seems far from over as there will be plenty of interest coming in from European suitors in the January transfer window as well despite Solskjaer claiming that Pogba is vital to the English giants.
