Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has admitted that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a bit more open-minded than former boss Jose Mourinho.
The Red Devils have not endured a great start to the new Premier League season as they managed only one win so far in four games, accumulating only five points out of a possible 12. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over the reins from Jose Mourinho in December last year but has not been able to grind out the results off late and his job has come under scrutiny.
Solskjaer’s job was made permanent in March after a great run but everyone knew that Jose Mourinho is a better manager in terms of his tactics and game style. The only issue with Mourinho was that the chiefs at United did not hand him a supporting hand and the club decided to sack him late last year due to a run of poor results. It’s no doubt that Mourinho is one of the most successful managers around in world football but Solskjaer might seem like a better fit for a club like Manchester United.
However, England forward Marcus Rashford has admitted that the 46-year-old Solskjaer has a better understanding relationship with his players. The 21-year-old forward said, “Right now, everyone is confident in the manager, We might not be doing what he’s telling us to perfection yet, but the initial response to his tactics, his training has been phenomenal. For me, [the difference to previous managers] is just a plan. It’s not a plan for just this season or a plan for just the next game. It’s a plan for years. I think [managers] need to be backed. In the position we are in now we don’t need this rotation of managers, because you never settle.”
