Solskjaer Rules Out Poga For Newcastle United Game

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has claimed that it is very unlikely for French midfielder Paul Pogba to play the game against Newcastle United on Sunday but he could return for the game against Liverpool.

Pogba was not present in the United squad that played out a goalless draw against AZ in the Europa League on Thursday due to an ongoing foot injury and the 26-year-old has been left out of the France squad by national team coach Didier Deschamps, who stated that the midfielder could be missing for three weeks.

That means that United’s ace midfielder could be a massive doubt for the Red Devils’ key clash with league leaders Liverpool on October 20th at Old Trafford.

The red half of Manchester is struggling with injury problems and is already without Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial, Eric Bailly and Phil Jones in the early stages of the campaign but Solskjaer is in need of results and Pogba is arguably the best player at the club.

But the Norwegian was asked whether Pogba would be available for the game against Newcastle United on Sunday, and the 46-year-old Solskjaer replied by saying, “Probably not, let’s see on Saturday morning, probably not. There’s an international break as well and that might be a time for us to give them 10-14 days extra to be ready for Liverpool.”

Manchester United are currently in 11th place in the Premier League table and need some positive results over the next few weeks to get their season up and running.
