Premier League side Manchester United have expressed their anger and disappointment at the media following false reports that Paul Pogba wants a massive hike in his pay only to remain at Old Trafford.
It is no secret that Pogba has admitted his desire to play for Real Madrid and under Zinedine Zidane at the Santiago Bernabeu. The Frenchman expressed that he wanted to make a move to the Spanish capital before the start of the new season when Pogba admitted that he wanted a new challenge.
Most people, fans, and pundits have made a lot out of this story regarding Pogba and have scapegoated the United star pointing him out to be the main reason for the poor start to the season. Amid all this, there were reports claiming that Pogba has demanded a massive pay rise only to stay at the club despite interest from the Los Blancos. West Ham United’s vice-chairman published a piece on his newspaper column stating that Pogba should be sold in the January transfer window due to his staggering demands.
But the Red Devils have had enough of Pogba’s criticism and come to his aid by issuing a statement of their own responding to the rubbish rumors, “Paul [Pogba] still has two years left on his current deal with an option of an extra year so there have been no talks about a new contract and nothing from Paul saying he wants an increase in wages. He’s fully focused on getting 100 percent fit again and helping the team. Anyone that says he’s been asking for £600,000-a-week is wrong and it’s a surprise to us when someone in the game like Karren Brady refers to it.”
Norwegian manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has also explained in the past that Pogba is a key member of his team and plans for the future as well because the World Cup winner is arguably the best player at the club.
