Dietmar Hamman Makes Sancho Claim

Ex Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann has explained that the Merseyside giants should plan to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho in the upcoming January transfer window to bolster their squad.

Jurgen Klopp decided to stay away from making any big additions to his Champions League winning squad this summer transfer window but are still leading the Premier League table six points clear of 2nd placed Manchester City. Although the unwillingness to sign any players in the summer has not affected Liverpool yet, former Reds star Dietmar Hamann has claimed that the club should target Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.

Liverpool already has one of the fiercest front three in Europe which has formed an extremely terrifying combination over the recent past but the one area where Liverpool has struggled is to find a creative playmaker from midfield to feed those through passes to Salah, Mane, and Firmino.

Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Georgino Wijnaldum and Fabinho are excellent and energetic midfielder but none of them spark a sense of creativity in the final third to unlock the tightest of defenses. Therefore, to solve this issue, Hamann has some advice for Klopp ahead of the January transfer window and stated that Liverpool could be in line to raid Manchester United’s prime target, the Champions League-winning former German international said, “I have heard that Liverpool have a lot of interest in Sancho. I can imagine they could become one of the biggest contenders this summer,”

Hamann then gave further stated the reason and justification for his statement, saying that the English winger would likely snub both Manchester United and City, and could be a perfect replacement for one of Liverpool’s front three if they leave Anfield.

The 46-year-old added, “He’s from Manchester City and I don’t know if he would return to them again. It’s tricky with Manchester United as well when a player already played for the big rival. Sancho has no get-out clause, and if Dortmund says they want an astronomical amount, it will not happen. There are not many players to reinforce Liverpool’s attack at the moment. I don’t know if Sancho is such a player, but maybe if one of the three leaves, then Sancho would be perfect for the attack.”

Manchester United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have been heavily linked with signing Sancho but Liverpool has the attraction of offering the 19-year-old Englishman Champions League football along with the opportunity to win trophies.
