Solskjaer Always Believed Of Managing A Big Team

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has insisted that he never doubted his ability to manage a big team like the Red Devils despite criticism during his tenure.

The red half of Manchester is on a five-match unbeaten streak in the Premier League and sit in the sixth position on the table ahead of hosting Merseyside outfit Everton this Sunday.

The 46-year-old has faced criticism since replacing Portuguese ‘Special One’ Jose Mourinho las year in December, but recent victories over Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City have eased some of the pressure off Solskjaer.

However, despite the dodgy run that Manchester United has been going through since Solskjaer’s appointment, the former Manchester United striker has claimed that he always thought of returning to Old Trafford as a manager.

Speaking to the reporters ahead of the game against Everton Solskjaer claimed that he had the belief and ability to take up a big job by managing the sinking ship which was Manchester United, “I always had the belief that I could manage this club. I wouldn’t have taken the job if I had felt I couldn’t do it because I owe Manchester United honesty. Football-wise, I think I can hold my own when it comes to tactics and stuff, but I have a great staff to help me. It’s not all about me.”

Solskjaer further explained that he is glad to have the backroom staff at his disposal, “I’m so glad I’ve got Michael Carrick, Mike Phelan, and Kieran McKenna and I think I make them feel that I can do the job here and that’s happening. That’s why I was never afraid of not being able to handle this. I always knew I could.
