Kane to United: Is it possible?

The prolific striker of the England national team, Harry Kane, is heavily linked with a move to Manchester United coming summer transfer window. The striker is rumored to be opening up himself to the offers in the next transfer window.

The English striker has hinted at the possible Spurs departure as the Golden boots are no longer enough to keep him at the trophyless Tottenham Hotspurs F.C.

Kane, born and raised in London, started his professional career in London-based Tottenham Hotspurs and was promoted to senior team in 2009 at the age of 16. Though he was out on loan to many clubs, he started playing in the starting XI for Spurs under Mauricio Pochettino from 2013. Kane scored a record 180 goals in 271 appearances for the club making him one of the best strikers in the club’s history. He is now considered as one of the best strikers in the English league as well as the world.

The Tottenham talisman has been privately considering his long-term future for several months now as the Premier League got suspended due to the Coronavirus outbreak. He is considering this primarily because he wants to be in the best position to win some trophies for himself.

The former Spurs midfielder, Jamie Redknapp told sky sports that: ” Golden boots are great and he loves the fact that he’s got a lot of individual accolades but he will want to win trophies with his team.” He also believes that Daniel Levy, Chairman of Tottenham, may have pushed Harry Kane closer towards the Tottenham Hotspur exit by furloughing staff during the coronavirus lockdown.

Garry Neville said on sky sports news that:

“Any club in the Premier League would want Harry Kane. There are some signings that are like gold, where you just know they are going to work. Harry Kane is unbreakable in the sense of his mentality. He’ll always score goals, will always give 100 per cent in training, and is completely reliable as a manager would want. For Manchester United, it would be a perfect signing in terms of what they need. They had Bruno Fernandes come in and he’s done a great job, Harry Maguire at the back. If they can get someone like Kane up front, you’re looking at a fantastic spine.”

Manchester United have been strongly linked with a move for Kane for a number of years, and Neville added that he believes the signing of the 26-year-old forward would fit in with their transfer policy and would be a perfect signing for them, over the last three decades in signing the best domestic talent possible.

Traditionally, United have a history of signing the continent’s leading talents and the English international is unquestionably one of the best central strikers in Europe and commercially, Kane’s transfer would have huge benefits for the club given his position as England’s international captain.

It is on the pitch where he would be most valuable for United. It would be very interesting to see him work with his fellow countrymen Mason Greenwood and another English strike talent Marcus Rashford.

Tottenham’s £200 million price could put a damper on the party and prove to be a major stumbling block for the club. But United are one of just a handful of teams who could finance such a deal if the board members have the appetite to do so.

Kane’s transfer to the squad can prove to be a lethal inclusion to striking force of  Manchester United with the likes of  Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Bruno Fernandes, Mason Greenwood and Daniel James,  and thereby completing the attacking puzzle of the club.
