Manchester United FC are preparing to offer a new contract to teenage sensation Brandon Williams who has become a revelation under Red Devils manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer this season.
Williams, who is just 19 years of age, signed his current contract with the Premier League side last October only. However, with the rampant progress of the teenage defender as a player under Solskjaer and his foray into the first-team squad of the Red Devils, the management at Manchester United FC feel that it is time for them to offer an improved contract to the player.
The defender currently earns a wage of £4,000 per week as per his existing contract. On the other hand, William’s fellow left-back in the Red Devils squad Luke Shaw is earning £190,000 per week. Both the players have challenged each other for the left-back spot in Solskjaers starting lineup throughout the season.
With Shaw’s time on the pitch limited due to a series of injuries and inconsistent form, the young Williams has made the most his opportunity and has put in some terrific performances in the United shirt, especially against the top six teams in the Premier League.
Williams, who is a graduate of the Manchester United FC youth academy, had not played a single minute for his team prior to the 2019-20 season. However, the player has starred for the Premier League side this season with 26 appearances out of which he has started in 19.
Williams scored his debut goal for The Red Devils against Sheffield United in November last year. While being a traditional left-back, Willaims has also shown his versatility for his team by playing on the left side of midfield and even operating as a right-back.
The teenager has become a favourite among the Manchester United FC fans in no time due to his spectacular performances on the pitch and his relentless hard work and energy while playing. The Red Devils manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer has praised Williams on many occasions, describing him as a person with a wonderful attitude and the hunger to become better as a player.
Williams was showered with praise by United’s legendary fullback Gary Neville who noted that the teenager had a winning mentality while playing in the esteemed Red Devils shirt.
