Red Devils reported to have made a huge offer for FC Barcelona starlet

Manchester United FC have reportedly submitted £89 million offer to sign Ansu Fati from Spanish side FC Barcelona.

The Premier League side has made the offer amid increasing speculation that the Red Devils may not be able to secure the signing of long-term target Jadon Sancho from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund.

This had led to Manchester United FC manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær look elsewhere for alternatives, and the Norwegian has identified Fati as an ideal signing considering his young age and potential to become one of the world’s greatest attackers.

The 17-year old Fatti has made a big splash in world football this season having scored five goals and assisted one in 24 appearances for FC Barcelona. The player was given ample opportunities to prove his worth to the Spanish side on the football pitch by now sacked FC Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde.

It was Valverde who promoted Fati from the Spanish giant’s U-18 squad and gave him his debut, which made the player the second-youngest player in history to feature in a game for the La Liga leaders. Moreover, injuries suffered by French international Ousmane Dembele further gave more playtime to Fati on the pitch.

It has been reported that FC Barcelona were quick to knock down the offer received for Fati by Manchester United FC due to the Spanish side valuing Fati immensely and not keen on letting the 17-year old world prospect leave the club any time soon.

However, the Red Devils have been believed to leave the offer on the table if FC Barcelona changes their stance regarding Fati’s future at Camp Nou. FC Barcelona’s president Josep Maria Bartomeu has stated in the past that Fati is an integral part of the Spanish side’s future and had expressed his admiration for the young player.

FC Barcelona are looking to sign Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez from Italian side Inter Milan for a long time now.

The player is high on the radar of the Spanish side, but FC Barcelona are being priced out of a deal for the highly-rated forward. The possible sale of Fati to the Red Devils would provide a considerable cash injunction to FC Barcelona to pursue the signing of Martinez.

At the same time, signing Fati would be a massive boost for Solskjær and the Manchester United FC squad’s future as they aim to compete for the Premier League title in the coming campaigns.
