Manchester United FC midfielder Scott McTominay has extended his stay at the Premier League club. The Scottish international has signed a new contract with the Red Devils which will run until 2025. Moreover, McTominay would have the option of further extending his stay by an additional year.
The midfielder has prospered at Manchester United FC since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over the reins at Old Trafford. The 23-year old McTominay had been expected to extend his existing contract with the Red Devils, after him breaking into the Manchester United FC first-team squad.
After penning the new contract, McTominay voiced his delight of being able to play a part in the future of the Red Devils. The midfielder stated that it had been his passion to continue playing in the Manchester United FC colours. McTominay also thanked Solskjaer for the faith shown in him by the Norwegian coach.
The player has become an integral part of the current Manchester United FC midfield. McTominay is on course to becoming a permanent fixture in the Red Devils holding midfielder role and is considered the ideal successor to the ageing Nemanja Matic.
After making his debut for Manchester United FC under Jose Mourinho in 2017, McTominay has made over 70 appearances for the Red Devils. During this run, he has scored six goals. The player has become known for his excellent work rate on the pitch and ability to close down opposition attackers.
The Scott is a product of the esteemed Manchester United FC youth academy. Praising the work done by the youth coaches, Solskjaer voiced his pleasure at McTominay’s contract renewal.
The Manchester United FC manager expressed his admiration for the 23-year old’s determination and tenacity on the pitch. He expressed hope for McTominay’s further development in the coming seasons during his reign at Old Trafford.
