The corona pandemic has completely hindered schedules all around the world and football is no different. Some of the leagues have been completely scraped off, while some have finished and the rest are still going on, without an audience. With a change in schedules and FIFA’s approval, the summer transfer window will be open for 10 weeks, from 27th July to 5th October.
Manchester United, just like all other transfer windows, are linked to a host of talented players. The Red Devils will reportedly be very busy in the summer transfer market because of the planned summer overhaul. United are in a crucial phase of their rebuilding and will try to get the best players possible, for manager Solskjaer.
United’s top priority this transfer windows seems to be Jadon Sancho, with whom they have been linked for a year now. There have been a lot of rumours linking both the parties, but officially, United haven’t approached Dortmund yet. It will be intriguing to see if the Red Devils are able to pull this transfer off, as Sancho is a great right-winger.
The IFAB (International Football Association Board) has also allowed teams to use up to five substitutions in the next season as well. But the board will leave the decision for respective leagues to ponder and decide on their own. The IFAB has done so keeping in mind the fitness of the players as their utmost priority.
It will be interesting to see what the Premier League chooses to do, as they have been given their right to choose. With the pandemic situation, football might never be the same again and there has been no decision yet about allowing in fans. All the clubs have been hugely affected by the pandemic due to loses it caused.
United are reportedly in the lookout of a striker, a defender, and a midfielder in this summer transfer window. The Red Devils’ chiefs will be keen not to over-spend on any recruit as they have had a poor record of the same, lately. But, their drive to reach the top of the Premier League charts will see them buying some great players in the near future.
