Manchester United are looking to some quality defenders to their squad in the summer transfer window and are linked with a move to sign Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan Bissaka for around £55 million, with his medical set to take place soon.
The Red Devils endured quite a torturous season last term as they finished in sixth place on the League table. One department that United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to strengthen is the back line and in order to achieve that he will have to bring in some new faces to replace the static, old players like Ashley Young, Phil Jones, and Chris Smalling.
Having already signed Welsh pacey winger Daniel James from Swansea City, it’s clear that the Norwegian is looking to invest in youth and now is keen on making Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan Bissaka his next summer signing by the end of this week.
Wan Bissaka was one of the best players for the Palace last season and gained plenty of interest from top clubs in the European continent with his pace, agility and defensive traits. United already made a £50 million bid for the England U-21 international but have seen their bid rejected by the Eagles because they are demanding more for their prized asset.
But United are now stepping up their offer to £55 million which should probably give them the green light to signing Wan Bissaka. The only thing remaining for Wan Bissaka to complete his move to Old Trafford is his medical which is set to be taking place by the end of this week.
Wan Bissaka is currently flying home to England following a disastrous campaign in the Euro U-21’s as the Three Lions lost all three of their group games. The defender wants to finalize his move to Manchester United and that is the main reason why he has scheduled his move back home before heading out on holiday and returning to pre-season with his new club.
