According to the Manchester Evening News, AC Milan has set an asking price of €100 million for Rafael Leao amid rising interest from Manchester United.
The Portuguese superstar contributed significantly to the Rossoneri’s title-winning season last year, scoring 11 goals and dishing out 10 assists in 34 games.
With 11 goal contributions in 14 Serie A appearances, he has maintained his stellar play this season. Additionally, the 23-year-old has five goals in the Champions League.
Despite this, his future is unknown as he approaches the last 18 months of his Milan contract. He is currently valued at €100m by the Rossoneri.
This year, United has been frequently linked with a move, but according to reports, the club has not yet expressed a genuine interest. During the January transfer window, United are poised to spend heavily on a star forward, and it has been revealed that Cody Gakpo of PSV Eindhoven is the top target.
Gakpo has been in outstanding form for PSV, scoring 13 goals and dishing out 17 assists in just 24 games. The Dutchman wants to play as a striker for United. If Gakpo is unavailable this winter, Leao might serve as a substitute target.
We don’t see United spending €100 million on his services. A deal for about €70 million may be in the works, but it’s unclear if Milan will be open to compromising a deal.
