Journalist Alfredo Pedulla has revealed that Manchester United’s pursuit of Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat has received a significant boost.
While the Red Devils are currently focused on securing the transfer of Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund, they are reportedly hesitant to pay more than €70 million for his services.
And now United’s pursuit of Amrabat has seen significant progress. According to journalist Alfredo Pedulla, there has been continuous communication with the player, and he has expressed his consent to the transfer as of yesterday.
Before finalizing the move for Amrabat, United will prioritize offloading some players from their current squad. The potential deal with Fiorentina could involve a base price of €22-25 million, with additional bonuses to meet the overall price tag of €30 million.
While no definitive agreement has been reached yet, United are steadily getting closer to securing the signature of the midfielder.

The Moroccan international had shown interest in moving to La Liga earlier in the summer, with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid expressing interest.
However, neither club has made an official offer so far. Barcelona are facing financial issues, and Atletico have reportedly cooled their pursuit of the player.
Recent reports suggest that Man United are now the only club seriously interested in signing Amrabat, and they have successfully convinced the 26-year-old to join them.
The transfer fee for Amrabat is considered affordable for United, but the club’s hierarchy may prioritize the departure of a couple of midfielders before making the purchase. Fred is one player who has been speculated to leave, and he could be sold for around €12 million.

Donny van de Beek is another player who could potentially leave United, as he has hinted that his future might be elsewhere. He was left as an unused substitute in a recent match against Arsenal.
If both Fred and van de Beek depart from United, it would free up funds for the club to pursue the signing of Sofyan Amrabat. The reunion with his former manager, Erik ten Hag, seems to be an enticing prospect for the midfielder.
Amrabat made his first-team debut under Ten Hag while at Utrecht, and their relationship has remained strong over the years. This connection could play a significant role in the potential transfer to Man United.
