Ajax winger Antony is understood to be closing in on signing for Manchester United this summer with United making progress in talks to sign Eric ten Hag’s priority target in the transfer window.
The Brazilian winger was a star turn for his side last season with eight goals and four assists from 23 Eredivisie matches to his tally which has made United take notice of his ability and earmark him as a top name on their summer shopping list.
According to Forbes journalist Sam Pilger ( via The Daily Express), it is claimed that Ajax have agreed to lower their asking price for Antony in a much-needed boost to United’s pursuit of the 22-year-old forward in the transfer window.
The Red Devils, under the newly appointed head coach Ten Hag, look in desperate need of reinforcements to bolster an underwhelming attacking lineup which could lose out on talisman Cristiano Ronaldo before the next season kicks off in England.
Ronaldo has demanded his exit to be sanctioned by the United board with the 37-year-old Portuguese superstar keen to turn out for a club which offers him the chance to feature in the Champions League.
