Alejandro Garnacho receives International call-up for upcoming friendly games

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United starlet Alejandro Garnacho has made the Argentina national team list for the first time ahead of the friendly games.

During the upcoming international break, Lionel Scaloni’s team will play friendly matches against Curacao and Panama. Garnacho might get the chance to play at the senior international level for the first time.

The Madrid-born 19-year-old played for Spain during his initial days. However, he played for the Argentina U20 side last year and is also qualified to play for the nation through his mother. Nonetheless, he was not selected for the World Cup campaign.

This season, United manager Erik ten Hag has put his faith in Garnacho, and the Argentine has repaid his faith with top-notch performances. He scored an important match-winning goal in Wednesday’s 3-1 FA Cup fifth-round victory over West Ham.

Garnacho is one of the 35 players named to Scaloni’s team for the country’s upcoming friendlies, their first competitive match since taking home the World Cup in December.

Brighton’s Facundo Buonanotte, Inter Milan’s Valentin Carboni, and Manchester City’s Maximo Perrone have all been included in the list. World Cup winner Lisandro Martinez is also included in the squad.

Tottenham Hotspur’s Cristian Romero, Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez and Emiliano Buendia, Brighton’s Alexis MacAllister, and Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez have also made the list. Argentina will face Panama on March 23 and Curacao on March 28.
