Ander Herrera Makes Shocking Revelation About Manchester United

Former Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has recently revealed that he was extremely happy at Old Trafford but certain moments made him feel like football wasn’t the most important thing at the club.

The Spanish midfielder left Manchester United for Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer in the summer window refusing to sign a contract extension with the Red Devils. Herrera instead agreed on a five-year contract with Ligue 1 champions PSG that would keep him at the Parc des Princes until the summer of 2024.

The 30-year-old Herrera spoke about Manchester United in a recent interview with a French media outlet where he said that strangely that the Red Devils made him feel that their primary concern was not football. Herrera also complained that he could not feel the dedication to thrive during his time at Old Trafford as other issues at the club were overshadowing the football aspect of the game.

Herrera explained that he was happy but his life wasn’t entirely complete due to the lack of motivation, “To be honest, I was incredibly happy in Manchester, but at the club, there were moments when I felt that football wasn’t the important thing. I don’t know… but football didn’t seem to be high on the agenda at United. I don’t want to start comparing clubs, all I know is that here [in Paris], I feel like I am breathing football everywhere I go and I really like that.”

Elaborating on his statement, he went on to explain that PSG may seem like a club that only splashes the cash on the outside, but all they think about from top to bottom in football. He claims that everyone involved with the French giants is solely dedicated and concerned to the cause and it reflects in their passion for the game.

Herrera further went on to compare his current club and state the differences, “I can’t speak about what PSG was like in seasons gone by because I wasn’t there but since I came here, what I see is a club that thinks solely, exclusively about football. And I say that sincerely because at times, looking from the outside, PSG might seem to have a glamorous side which some people might find irritating. But here work hard, train, sweat! When I get to the training ground, the physio, the podiatrist and the fitness trainer are already there and ready to start work… that’s what it’s all about – football, football, football.”

Manchester United will be hoping to sign a combative energetic midfielder like Herrera back in the January transfer window. Sadly, Herrera wasn’t able to dedicate himself entirely to the club but his passion wasn’t matched due to other reasons.
