Andre Onana left embarrassed after conceding nightmare goal at Old Trafford

As stated by talkSport, Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana had a challenging debut at Old Trafford during the match against RC Lens on Saturday, following his £47 million move.

Erik ten Hag selected a formidable lineup that closely resembled his potential starting eleven for the Premier League opener against Wolves, just nine days away.

Onana and Mason Mount made their debut starts at Old Trafford alongside stars like Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, and Marcus Rashford.

However, the moment of excitement came from the spirited Lens fans in the 23rd minute when the Ligue 1 team scored an astonishing goal to take the lead.

Onana suffered embarrassment as he conceded a goal from a long distance. Lens’ Florian Sotoca noticed the African star off his line and took a shot from just inside the United half, finding the back of the net.

The Cameroonian star attempted to recover and keep the ball out after being caught off his line, but unfortunately, he couldn’t prevent the goal.

The 27-year-old will be eager to perform better when the official matches begin, starting with their Premier League opener against Wolves at Old Trafford on August 14.

Man United will play one final match before the start of the new season, taking on Athletic Club in Dublin on Sunday.

It remains uncertain how Ten Hag will approach the game, with fans eager to see the star players on the pitch once more after their victory against Lens.

The expectation is that the gaffer will field a second side, including players like Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire, Christian Eriksen, and Jadon Sancho, who were on the bench during the previous match at Old Trafford.
