As indicated by Manchester Evening News, Andreas Pereira is prepared to end his journey as a Manchester United player this summer. He doesn’t seem to be improving and will be looking to find a new club to continue building his career.
The 25-year-old has failed to make an impact at Manchester United and spent the past season on loan at Italian side Lazio. While he got more game time, there was little for him to tell in terms of his improvement.
Having joined from PSV Eindhoven in 2014, Pereira neglected to stand on the hype about him. Winner of the esteemed Denzel Haroun Reserve Team Player of the Year award in 2015, he has since failed to live up to expectations.
Lazio has the choice to sign the player permanently for €27million this late spring. In any case, given his awful return of only one goal and four assists in 33 appearances, they have little motivation to buy him.
Pereira as far as it matters for him doesn’t seem to have a future at United and could be looking to end his tenure at the club. He knows that there will be not many freedoms for him at Old Trafford and is quick to do a lasting switch somewhere else.
Pereira actually has two years to go on his present contract at United. The Red Devils value him at £21million, a value they will be fortunate to get given his latest performances.
At 25, Pereira actually has time to build his career at any other club. Anyone would agree that he has now gone to the extent that he could at United. Ideally, he will toll better somewhere else.
Pereira has shown up for the Red Devils in all competitions, scoring only four goals and making five assists for the club.
