Paul Pogba was once again spectacular for France as they were held by Portugal. Pogba provided the inch-perfect pass for Karim Benzema to score.
It does seem odd that Pogba is such a world-class player at the International level but fails to show consistency at United. There are various reasons for that and we all know that Pogba can be master-class if he is given the chance to play the way he wants.
Must Read– Deschamps not concerned with Pogba’s performances at Man United
His passing has been inch-perfect for France. Alongside Kante, he has been thriving so well. Deschamps has utilized the player in the best possible way and it seems that he receives better respect when he plays for France.
As reported by Daily Mail, Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend admits that Paul Pogba doesn’t receive the same respect in England and he is more criticized there.
He said: “For me, having watched the group stages, he’s the player of the tournament. Some of his passes and touches, his pass to Mbappe was one of the best I’ve ever seen. The back-four is compact but somehow he squeezes the ball around to Mbappe. When he plays for United he’s not far behind that but in England, we don’t appreciate Pogba. We appreciate those that kick hard and run for 90 minutes and that’s not Pogba. We don’t respect him enough in this country.”
It does seem logical that Pogba doesn’t receive much praise when he plays for United. His performances do signify that he can be the best for both club and country if he is allowed to play openly and confidently.
We expect Pogba to throw in more magical performances for France, and this will in turn raise more questions on Manchester United. Whether they use him properly or not, seems to be the main issue.
