Angel Gomes Heading For Manchester United Exit

Manchester United sensation Angel Goms is all but certain to leave the Premier League club on a free transfer in the upcoming January transfer window after deleting Man United’s name from his Instagram bio.

In this day and age, social media posts and messages tend to dictate the mood of a footballer player and what he is about to do next in his career. Gomes has been in contract talks with the Red Devils for the last few months but nothing has really been concretely resolved between the two parties.

The 19-year-old was seen as the next best thing to have come out of United’s bunch of academy players, however, Gomes has failed to get any playing time under Norwegian boss Ole Gunner Solskjaer. This comes as quite a major surprise given Solskjaer’s fondness for academy players from the club. Youth players like Mason Greenwood, Brandon Williams, James Garner and even injury-prone Axel Tuanzebe have regularly featured in matchday squads for the Premier League giants this season but the same cannot be stated about Angel Gomes.

Gomes has appeared only 4 times for Manchester United this season and was even left out of the matchday squad for their Europa League clash against Dutch outfit AZ Alkmaar. With contract talks hitting a dead-end, Gomes will be free to negotiate with a new club in the January transfer window and leave Man United on a free transfer in the summer.

The latest reports have claimed that Barcelona and Juventus are eyeing the 19-year-old playmaker as the ideal fit for their respective teams and will make a move for him as soon as the winter transfer window opens.

Reports also claim that Gomes is finding it difficult to adapt to English football, where he does not get enough time on the ball to dictate the play and also his timid physique is a reason for Solskajer not to utilize him in the Premier League. Therefore, a move overseas would be able to kickstart his career and help him grow as a player.
