Anthony Martial could be included in a swap deal to sign Victor Osimhen

Manchester United is reportedly doing everything they can to sign Victor Osimhen, according to the Express. The Red Devils are considering putting Anthony Martial in the deal in order to reduce Napoli’s gigantic asking price.

The Red Devils are ready to step up their attempts in the coming transfer window to sign key players. Erik ten Hag is expected to put together a summer target list and will be counting on the board’s full backing.

The club is looking to strengthen a few areas of their squad, owing to the current players’ poor performances. They are expected to lose several players, pushing them to look for replacements.

And now they are interested in bringing in at least one central defender, a midfielder, and a quality striker. With ten Hag apparently seeking to keep Cristiano Ronaldo for another season, a new center-forward might be brought in to compete with the Portuguese international before eventually replacing him.

Manchester United has been connected with a number of high-profile players, but Victor Osimhen appears to be a top priority. Arsenal is one of the clubs interested in signing the Napoli striker. The Serie A heavyweights might not be in a hurry to offload their prized player. The Nigerian international, though, could go if their asking price is fulfilled.

Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis is referring to Chelsea’s spend on Romelu Lukaku last summer when he asks for more than €100 million for the 23-year-old striker. The Serie A club will look to get a solid return on their investment in the star striker.

The Red Devils are able to pay such large fees, but they are looking into other options to lower the cost. One of them is to add Anthony Martial, a free agent, as part of the deal. The Frenchman is worth €30 million and has no future at Manchester United.

In the January transfer window, Martial left Old Trafford to join Sevilla on loan. After a promising start in Spain, the Frenchman has had a difficult time and has yet to score in La Liga. The Andalusian club will not sign him on a permanent basis, forcing the forward to look for a new challenge.

While speculations of Manchester United considering Martial for the deal have come up, the Frenchman has given no indication of his willingness to join Napoli. The Serie A team could be a good fit for him to preserve his career, but he’ll probably wait for bigger opportunities to present himself.

Victor Osimhen could be open to a Premier League challenge, and Manchester United could be the only club willing to pay his huge asking price.
