Antony slams Ajax in shocking interview after they reject €90m bid

Manchester United target Antony has ripped through Ajax board in his latest interview after they reject a new €90million bid.

The Red Devils are on the lookout for a new attacker and Antony has been high on their wish list. In fact, the club are highly focused on bringing the Brazilian to Old Trafford at any cost. They had their first bid rejected but came up with a huge €90million bid for the 22-year-old.

However, the Eredivisie side has again rejected their second attempt amid claims that they want to keep their star player. The transfer saga is still not over as United will be coming up with another bid as they want to sign Antony before the deadline day.

The Ajax star had spoken about his future in the latest interview with transfer guru Fabrizio Romano and he didn’t hold back his frustration. Antony made it clear that he always wanted to leave and had informed the club beforehand.

As stated by Fabrizio Romano, Antony said:

“Since February of this year, my agents came to Amsterdam to inform Ajax of my desire to leave the club to face a new challenge and that some interested clubs would arrive and with them, certainly a great offer.”

“In June of this year, I interrupted my vacation and came personally to inform the managers of Ajax, including the new coach, about my wish to leave and that they should consider this possibility because it was a project for two seasons.”

“Today, in a meeting with the club, I expressed my old interest in leaving, only this time with a considerable offer on the table. Others had already arrived! Ajax refused with the argument that they only have five days to replace me.”

“I’m not asking Ajax to release me, I’m asking Ajax to sell me with the highest bid ever for an Eredivisie player. I’ve been insisting on this theme since February so that the club could rebuild the team with peace of mind.”

“I was very happy in Amsterdam, I won titles at Ajax, made friends and built part of my career, but now I REINFORCE that I am ready and full of motivation to follow my story and my dreams.”

The Brazilian star has set his sights on Manchester United and he doesn’t want to sign a new contract with Ajax. The Red Devils are doing their best to convince the Dutch club to sell their prized asset, but his parent club wants to sign a replacement before they let him leave.

Erik ten Hag wants to reunite with his former player who has scored 24 goals and provided 22 assists since his time at Amsterdam. Together they have won the domestic cup as well as the Eredivisie title. But the winger wants to build his career by facing a new challenge and United seems to be the perfect place for him.

Ajax’s resistance can be broken if the board decided to bid close to €100m for the winger. The Red Devils have other targets to look upon like Cody Gakpo and Martin Dubravka and they will need to make it quick if they want to sign all their targets.
