Arsenal keeping an eye on Manchester United target Evan Ndicka

According to the Evening Standard, Arsenal has joined the race to sign Manchester United target Evan Ndicka.

The Gunners are hoping to add a left-footed centre-back to improve their defensive options. And Mikel Arteta has the 23-year-old at the top of his list. The North London team is interested in the Eintracht Frankfurt defender after failing to sign Lisandro Martinez from Ajax.

Along with the Red Devils, Ndicka has also been linked to Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur. His performances for the Bundesliga team have drawn a lot of attention and his contract is also set to expire next year.

The French defender helped Frankfurt in winning the Europa League during the previous season after they defeated Rangers in the finals.  He has been crucial once more this season, starting the majority of the games under Oliver Glasner. Over the years, United has acquired a number of excellent defenders. Raphael Varane signed with the Red Devils last year, but Martinez joined during the most recent transfer window.

Additionally, the Red Devils’ backline is strengthened by the combination of Argentine and French players. With the two pairings working together in defence, we have appeared strong.

Erik ten Hag decided to bench Harry Maguire in favour of the 2018 World Cup winner after the 2022–23 season got off to a rough start.

Ndicka might be a choice to strengthen our defence if either Maguire or Lindelof decides to leave next summer. If we are able to get him, he would also be a long-term investment given his age.
