According to the Sun Live, Italian outfit AS Roma are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay during the summer transfer window.
McTominay has made a significant impact during his time at United, accumulating 209 appearances and contributing to 24 goals.
However, he found himself lower in the pecking order last season under manager Erik ten Hag, who preferred players like Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, and Bruno Fernandes.
As a result, the 26-year-old midfielder is expected to depart from Old Trafford this summer. Roma’s manager, Jose Mourinho, who previously gave McTominay his professional debut in Manchester, is reportedly interested in signing the Scottish international.
While there is a possibility that United could sell the Scottish star this summer, it is reported that Ten Hag is reluctant to lose both McTominay and Fred in the same transfer window.

Roma, who recently reached the Europa League final, are actively reinforcing their squad with notable signings such as Evan Ndicka and Houssem Aouar.
However, they face competition from Brighton and Hove Albion in their pursuit of Man United midfielder Scott McTominay.
Brighton, who have already secured the signings of James Milner and Mahmoud Dahoud, are also looking to strengthen their midfield after Alexis Mac Allister’s departure to Liverpool.
Additionally, Moises Caicedo is expected to leave Brighton this summer, and Chelsea, United, and Arsenal have shown significant interest in the Ecuadorian international. However, negotiations could be challenging as his price tag is set at over £80 million.
