AS Roma striker Tammy Abraham is still on Manchester United’s radar

According to Calciomercato, Manchester United is keeping an eye on AS Roma striker Tammy Abraham as they aim to replace Cristiano Ronaldo in the upcoming transfer window.

Last year, Abraham had a standout season under Jose Mourinho. The 25-year-old played for the Giallorossi in 53 games across all competitions during the previous season. In the end, he contributed with 27 goals and five assists.

The England international had to establish himself in English football’s lower division after rising through the ranks at Chelsea before being granted a shot with the Blues.

Under Frank Lampard, Abraham became a regular starter. In 34 Premier League appearances during the 2019–20 season, the forward scored 15 goals and provided four assists. The 25-year-old, though, dropped down the pecking order once Lampard left Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel took over in the Stamford Bridge dugout. Thus the English forward decided to move to Roma and this decision proved to be the best one for his career.

Marcus Rashford has been the centre forward for United this season on the majority of occasions. The England international was chosen to start over Cristiano Ronaldo by Erik ten Hag. On the other side, Anthony Martial has had difficulties staying injury free. Fans would choose Abraham over Rashford because the Roma striker possesses the technical skills required to succeed in the Premier League.

Will United be the ones to bring him from Roma in the upcoming transfer windows to offer him a chance to re-establish his career in England? Time will only tell.
