Aston Villa 0-3 Manchester United Match Report | EPL 2019/20

Manchester United FC thrash Aston Villa 3-nil at Villa Park Stadium and extend their unbeaten run to 17 games. Bruno Fernandes, Mason Greenwood, and Paul Pogba were all on the score sheet as the Red Devils dominated relegation-battling Villa. Manchester United are now just one point shy of the top-four places, with four games to go in the Premier League.

The Red Devils lined up the same team they had been doing for the last three games in the Premier League. Lindelof went off at half time in United’s last Premier League game and was a doubt, but did well against Villa. The game against Aston Villa was difficult for the Red Devils for the first 20 minutes, when Villa players attacked.

For the first 20 minutes, United looked clueless and didn’t have the cohesion between the attack and the midfield. But around the 30-minute mark, Bruno Fernandes was fouled in the penalty box and scored through the penalty himself. Once the Red Devils were one goal up, they were on song and started playing fluidic football again.

Greenwood scored the second United goal as they countered Aston Villa after Martial got the ball from Ming at the half-way line. Paul Pogba also scored his first goal of the season, later in the match, from a Bruno Fernandes corner. The goal seemed to be one from the training ground as Bruno rolled the ball to Pogba on the edge of the box.

United are now the first side to win four consecutive games in the league, with a goal difference of three or more goals. The Red Devils are favourites to get a top-four spot in the Premier League with only one point off Leicester. It might as well go to the last matchday in the league when the Red Devils play Leicester City.

Manchester United are the only team in the Premier League not to lose a match after the restart. The momentum is there for the Red Devils to build on, as they play three more games in ten days. With the form they are in, the Red Devils might pull off a third-place finish in the Premier League.
